Tim Pile
Tim is CEO of Cogent Elliott, the leading Midlands based Marketing Agency, supporting a large number of iconic brands and wonderful businesses. Cogent has been successfully transformed in the last few years and has had impressive growth in the teeth of the recession.
He is also a non-exec Board Director of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and of Marshalls Plc. Until recently, he was also a NED of Cancer Research UK.
Between 2001 and 2006, Tim was CEO of Sainsbury’s Bank and a member of Sainsbury’s Operating Board.
Prior to Sainsbury’s, Tim led the Retail Function of the Alliance and Leicester Group as Marketing, Strategy and Sales Director from ’96 to 2001 and built the strategic change programme.
Before this he served at LloydsTSB as Marketing Director. Earlier in his career, somewhere in the deep distant past were a series of roles in Marketing Agencies, heavily involved with such wonderful ‘marketing academies’ as Mars and P&G.
He is a governor at Bromsgrove School, Honorary Senior Fellow at Birmingham Business School, Chair of Marketing Society of the Midlands and regular speaker/chair at Marketing conferences and Financial Service summits.
