Neil Cartwright
Neil Cartwright is head of digital at entertainment marketing agency Media Junction. Neil helps clients understand audiences within traditional and digital environments, maximising their marketing potential. He has a special interest in how brands, artists and agencies can leverage localisation and mobile and the potential of NFC technology.
Neil was previously head of new media at Sony Music UK for nine years and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Community Music. He has won a New Media Age Effectiveness Awards, three Creative Art and Design Awards (CADS) and two Online Music Awards (OMA).
Whilst at Sony Music UK, Neil was responsible for negotiating the company’s first foray into digital downloads at a time when most people had never heard of an iPod. In the latter stages of his time at Sony Music he oversaw its entry into the mobile music business, being responsible for its first ringtones, negotiations with operators and music download-to-phone.
Neil’s brand experience past and present include Jamiroquai, Channel4, ReedMIDEM, The Prodigy, Marshall Arts, Lostprophets, Ministry Of Sound, Trinity Films, Avalon TV Productions, Big Chill Festival, Global Gathering, The Orchard and HMV Mama Group.
In December 2008 Cartwright was named in The Observer's Courvoisier Future 500 as one of the people who will help shape the future of the UK.
His is Chair of the Board of Directors of a music charity called Community Music, who help aspiring musicians and producers from Tower Hamlets get in to the music business.
