Alan Dresch
Alan Dresch, Mellow Colour, who has been involved in colour management since the age of fifteen when he served a six year apprenticeship with a leading London repro house as one of the very first Hell scanner operators.
His father and grandfather were also ‘in the print’. He worked for various Repro shops and printing companies for many years, before taking a position as worldwide technical trouble-shooter for the Linotype-Paul scanner division - later to become ICG Ltd. In the Eighties he lived and worked in the USA for the ICG scanner distributor Royal Zenith as technical support manager.
During this time Alan continued to pursue a hands-on training and trouble-shooting role in the field. He returned to the UK in the late eighties and was made responsible for the development of new product opportunities at ICG, including development of the first drum scanner to desk-top link, and the award winning ICG vertical drum scanner.
During this period ICG Ltd twice won the Queens Award for Technological Achievement. Alan's name appears on a variety of innovative pre-press patents filed by ICG.
